Pear Tomatoes

Two pear tomatoes hanging together.

I love the color of these unique tomatoes and the quiet of the scene.
Minor tweeks in Lightroom and Photoshop.
A texture added.
But pretty close to straight out of the camera.

Learning to Work with White Space

I love this old spoon. It was my Grandmother's. The white linen table cloth was as well.

These are positioned so that window light from above reflects on them.
Obviously the image was also taken from above.

No texture was added as the linen table cloth provides for that.

I am working to add white space in photos so that the subject has some room to breath. I think I captured it here.

Let Your Light Shine

This is an image of a grapefruit. I loved the varied colorings on it's skin and the tiny but perfectly balanced leaves.

I created a white backdrop and positioned the fruit to get some side light from a window. The way the light reflects off of each side creates the different tones and increases the depth of the image.

I added a texture and masked a portion of the fruit as it has it's own beautiful texture. There is no need to distract from that.

All in all, I am quite pleased with the final result.

Telling an Event Story

I love this 9-patch (borrowed from the quilting world) for using a number of photos, none of which are all that great. Together, they makes a statement. We don't get snow all that often in Portland but for four days this February it was socked in. I took photos on three consecutive days and displayed them this way. It manages to tell the story quite nicely.

Desert Sunsets

There is nothing better than a desert sunset. The sky is so expansive and the colors continually change. Spectacular!

Cactus Study

At Christmas, I discovered a cactus at my neighbors house. It had it's own version of Christmas ornaments. I'd never seen anything like it. I grabbed some photos. I love the last one best. Looks like the dude is laughing. The white things are really cactus seeds. Too funny! I googled this to try and find the name of this cactus but to no avail. re there any I-people who know what it is?
